CHANGE:
This week marks the final week in our church calendar of the season after the Epiphany. The final Sunday in that week is known as Transfiguration Sunday. It is a day when things change within our church. We enter into a season of penitence and are called by our tradition to examine ourselves as we begin a journey towards the cross of Christ.
It is also the moment in which Christ physically turns to the cross. In the preceding verses to the Transfiguration moment in Jesus life, he begins to tell his followers that he must die and rise again.
Now he sets his eyes towards the cross in earnest. As we go into a week where we talk about change with one another, I invite you to ask what you need to change in your life. How is God calling you to journey towards the cross with Christ?
